Already the Chevrolet Camaro has achieved a great start. With tens of thousands of orders for the Camaro weeks before it had even reached showrooms, Chevy finally has what appears to be a success on its hands. If the Camaro does become a success, GM will use the opportunity to show off that it is still capable of producing the vehicles that consumers truly want.
The Chevy Camaro has been able to achieve a level of buzz that few American cars have been capable of lately. At auto shows around the country, Detroit Used Cars notes that muscle car aficionados and general sports car enthusiasts have all been drawn to the Camaro’s stunning styling and performance attributes. With its size, performance, and price, Chevy’s new goal will be to draw performance buyers away from the likes of the Nisan 370Z, Honda Civic Si, Mazda RX-7, Mini Cooper, and of course the Ford Mustang.
While the base price of the new Chevrolet Camaro is what will help make it competitive, its performance will be the real test for the car. Luckily, Orlando Chevrolet dealers say the new Chevy muscle car shouldn’t have any problem there. Even the base 3.6-liter V6 engine produces 304 horsepower. With that much power, the entry-level Camaro can sprint to 60 mph in just 6.1 seconds. Needless to say, the 6.2-liter V8 is no slouch either, with 400 horsepower or 426 horsepower depending on the transmission.
Another factor that will likely make the new Chevrolet Camaro an option for plenty of drivers is the fuel efficiency. Hartford Chevrolet dealers admit that Chevy has long been dogged by perceptions of producing gas guzzling vehicles, but the V6 equipped Camaro can deliver 29 mpg on the highway and the V8 equipped Camaro can deliver 25 mpg on the highway – both respectable numbers considering the unprecedented power from both engines! While consumers considering a hybrid are not suddenly going to flock their nearest Chevy showroom because of the fuel savings, it will make it more competitive in the current market. It will also help put to rest the stigma that American automakers focus on power and give no regard to fuel efficiency as it seems the Camaro offers both and much more.
