Automotive designers often draw their inspiration from the world of high fashion, but Chrysler Dealer Everett WA says there’s proof that the pipeline runs in both directions: After experiencing the bold, expressive style of the 2013 Chevy Malibu, famed fashion expert Isaac Mizrahi was moved to create the “Malibu Collection” of women’s apparel and accessories.
“The new Chevy Malibu has great style and smart design,” said Mizrahi. “With its clean lines, crisp shape, and beautiful ice-blue ambient lighting, the Malibu grabs your attention without being over the top.
“The Malibu says ‘I’m smart and stylish. I love nice things and will indulge for the right thing, but it’s important that I’m deliberate about my purchases.’ I think a lot of women are like that. They want that expensive handbag, but will hold off from eating out every night to save for it. They want to be fashionable, but also savvy about what they buy.”
According to Clovis Chevrolet, the limited-edition Malibu Collection will debut this fall and be offered only through LivingSocial.com. Before then, however, fashionistas can keep up with the project’s progress at www.ChevyMalibuStyle.com or via Mizrahi’s Facebook page, both of which will showcase behind-the-scenes videos and allow visitors to design their own shareable “Malibu-inspired fashion collages.” A Twitter campaign—leveraging @Chevrolet and #MalibuStyle—is in the works as well.
Of course, you don’t have to wait until then to experience Malibu Style, since the striking mid-size sedan is at Chevrolet New Orleans dealerships now, with an athletic and aerodynamic exterior, a sophisticated dual-cockpit cabin, plenty of available technologies, and an MSRP that starts at $22,390.
