The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze may look sporty, but can it hold its own on the track? Well, GM just released a video showing the Cruze being put through its paces, and the results are good.
GM’s Vehicle Line Director, Chuck Russell, highlights many of the Cruze’s strengths in this new video. Not only does GM promise that the Cruze will offer reliability and comfort, but this new sedan is also said to deliver crisp European-inspired handling and responsiveness.
Helping to compliment the Cruze’s sporty handling characteristics will be a lineup of fuel-efficient engines including a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 136 horsepower and a 1.4-liter turbocharged Ecotec engine producing 138 horsepower. The latter engine choice will yield an estimated 40 miles per gallon on the highway.
GM says the Cruze was designed to over-perform in all areas. Let’s hope that proves to be true when it’s launched this summer.
The extensive testing prior to the Cruze launch ensures that most Cruze buyers won’t be seeking frequent Tysons Corner Chevrolet repairs. GM likely wanted to be sure of that considering it will be taking on the long-lasting Civic and the Corolla.
